Tennishead is here to tell you everything you need to know before the WTA 500 tournament.

When is the Zhengzhou Open 2023?

The main draw for the Zhengzhou Open will be held from Monday, October 9th to Sunday, October 15th, and the preliminary draw will be held next weekend (October 7th and 8th).

Who is playing at the Zhengzhou Open 2023?

The next tournament in Zhengzhou will feature a very strong lineup, with seven of the WTA top 10 stars battling it out for valuable points in the second half of the season.

The lineup includes wildcard U.S. Open champion Coco Gauff, Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova, Elena Rybakina, Maria Sakkari, Ons Jabbar, Karolina Muchova and Caroline Garcia.

There is a lot of hype about the potential this tournament will bring, and the race towards the WTA Finals in Cancun is heating up.

However, the China Open results mean the race is officially over and the eight players for the year-end tournament have been decided. Rybakina, Djabur, Vondrousova and Muchova all advanced, but Sakkari narrowly missed out.

For this reason, and the fact that some players are still competing in the later rounds in Beijing, it would not be surprising to see some late withdrawals before the event begins.

There are three more wild cards available in the tournament, one of which will be awarded to home player Zhuoxuan Bai, while the other two have not been awarded yet.

Zhengzhou Open 2023 is an outdoor hard court tournament and will be held at the new Henan Stadium Center.
