Boniface joined Welkself this summer on a €20 million deal from Royal Union SG. And he has been remarkable ever since his arrival.

Killer, 22, has four goals and two assists in four competitive games for Bayer Leverkusen and is currently second on the Bundesliga top scorer list.

Bonifatius has adapted well to Bundesliga football and even impressed coach Xabi Alonso.

The 22-year-old has won praise from his teammates as former Arsenal midfielder Xhaka, who has just joined Bayer Leverkusen, has been impressed with his talent.

“Bonifatius is a down-to-earth boy hungry for goals and success,” Xhaka told Biltsport.

“It’s only good for the team if there are people up front who want to score goals and celebrate their successes.”

“That makes me better, and that makes my team better, and that makes me better. That kind of person is with us Good luck.”

Bonifatius’ performance earned him a call-up to the Super Eagles squad ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe on September 14th.
