Watch: Iftikhar Ahmed Smashes Zaman Khan For 24 In Five Balls To Win Pakistan Super League Thriller | PSL 2024

Watch: Iftikhar Ahmed hit Zaman Khan for 24 off his last five balls to seal victory for Multan Sultans in a pulsating Pakistan Super League game against Lahore Qalandars.

The middle-order batsman sparked the Iftimania phenomenon with his explosive finishing performance, scoring an unbeaten 34 off 11 balls and scoring the winning run with one over remaining.

Iftikhar entered the match with 82 off 59 balls and needed 39 off 21 balls after Mohammad Rizwan fell. He immediately got to work, hitting the first ball he faced four times and then the first ball of the next over bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi. David was then pinned left-handed after his Willie hit his six, and Iftikhar left for a strike in his second-to-last over.

The match was at a stalemate, with 24 points still needed to win, until it came to an abrupt end. First, a thick outside edge went past the third man four, then a shot across the ground from a misfield went through the fence. He then followed up with two big sixes on the leg side and a more targeted offside attack at the back of the square to end the game.

Multan Sultans have won three out of three matches heading into the 2024 PSL campaign, while last year’s champions Lahore Qalandars suffered three consecutive losses.
