Yashasvi Jaiswal Takes 24 Off One Sean Abbott Over En Route To Rapid Half-Century

India youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his outstanding start to international cricket with a blistering half-century at the top of the order in the second India-Australia T20I in Thiruvananthapuram.

India, led by Matthew Wade, got off to a great start thanks to 21-year-old Jaiswal’s typically quick start in the powerplay.

After a quiet start, Jaiwal scored three runs in the first seven balls. The young opener, in his fourth over of the game, got caught by Glenn Maxwell’s off-spin on three balls and hit two boundaries.

Jaiswal stepped up a gear in the next over, beating Sean Abbott for five consecutive innings and scoring 24 runs in the over. He showed the versatility of his batting game, pushing Abbott to the boundaries on either side of the wicket, racing from his 12 to his 36 in five deliveries.

He reached his half-century in two overs, hitting three consecutive fours off Nathan Ellis and reaching the milestone in just 24 balls. Jaiswal missed his shot on his next regular attack and found Adam Zampa as short third man to be eliminated.
