India’s stand-in captain KL Rahul admitted that the weather and conditions made it very difficult for him to play against the Australians in the recently concluded three-match ODI series ahead of the ODI World Cup. The 31-year-old made his comeback to India’s team in the 2023 Asia Cup and impressed everyone.
The weather at three places – Mohali, Indore and Rajkot – was as hot as it could be as the final series against Australia was held and concluded on Wednesday. India has been playing her ODI cricket in subcontinental climates but had to contend with sweltering heat in home conditions for the World Cup.
When asked about playing in the heat, KL Rahul admitted that conditions were difficult for India throughout the Australia series and said that Indian players were unable to take wickets. He revealed an interesting incident that led to his death. By Mitchell Marsh said although he made the worst decision to perform in the scorching heat of Mohali, he felt it was a good thing to challenge them ahead of the domestic main event.
“I came back very fresh. I had a lot of juice in my body so I have no complaints about that,” said KL Rahul.
“Physically it was really tough. The weather and conditions in Colombo were the worst in our opinion, but then we arrived in Mohali…I also said to the group after the match, Said: “We are from Colombo. “It can’t get any worse than this.”

KL Rahul rejoined the team for the Asia Cup and has been in great form since then. His unbeaten century came in his debut match for the Indian team against Pakistan. Since then, he has scored his second half-century in his three matches here.
