Watch: Zaman Khan dismantled Glenn Maxwell’s off-stump with a perfect yorker during the 2023/24 Big Bash League clash between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder.
Melbourne fell to 30-2 with 4.2 overs as captain Maxwell stepped down to bat. He raced to 21 off 14 balls but could only manage nine runs off the next 12 balls before Zaman Khan’s 129.6km/h yorker ended his stay at the crease. The ball was directed to the base of the off-stump and Maxwell’s attempt to swing the bat over the line missed completely and failed.
When Zaman picked up the first wicket of the game, the ball destroyed a tree behind him. The Pakistan fast bowler finished with 3-24 from four overs, beating out Hilton Cartwright and Jonathan Merlo to win the Player of the Match award.
Sydney won the match, achieving their target of 173 with 5 wickets.
