Watch: Rohit Sharma Sends Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Back Out After Batters Mistakenly Assume Captain Has Declared | IND Vs ENG

Watch: In the Rajkot Test match, India captain Rohit Sharma sent back Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan after they mistakenly assumed a declaration had been made.

India opened up a 126-run lead in the first innings on the fourth day of the third Test of five consecutive matches at Rajkot. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was out for 104 due to injury the previous day, returned and scored a double hundred, while debutant Sarfaraz Khan scored his second fifty of the match.

When drinks were called, both Jaiswal and Sarfaraz had passed their respective milestones and the score was 412-4. For some reason, England openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley sprinted up the steps to the pavilion, with Jaiwal and Sarfaraz trailing behind them.

It is unclear why all four agreed to the explanation, but other England cricketers stuck to it. From the pavilion, Rohit signaled Jaiwal and Sarfaraz to stay where they were.

In the next over Sarfraz hit two sixes and a four and Rehan Ahmed bowled, Rohit immediately declared, Jaiswal scoring 214 and Sarfaraz 68. After 557 points, England collapsed to a total of 122 points.
