India and Pakistan are gearing up to meet in the 2023 Asian Cup in a highly anticipated showdown. The tournament will be held in Kandy and will be the first since 2019 to feature more than 50 players. With India kicking off their campaign, Pakistan enters the tournament with renewed enthusiasm after a comfortable victory over Nepal in the tournament opener.
Ahead of the highly anticipated match, players from both teams gathered during Friday’s pre-match training session. Captains Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam shared the hilarious moment captured in a video posted on Pakistan Cricket’s official website microblogging page X (formerly Twitter).
During the conversation, Babar asked about Rohit’s family, especially if his wife and daughter were with him. Rohit Sharma replied that her daughter Samaira had started school so she could not attend with her.
The video also records a meeting between Virat Kohli and Harris Rauch at the stadium. Harris seems to remember Kohli’s unforgettable six shots against an opponent at the T20 World Cup in Australia the previous year. He jokingly said: “Jidhar se guzarta hu na, Kohli-Kohli hota hai (Everywhere I go I hear your name)”

It is worth noting that India and Pakistan could meet three times in the 2023 Asian Cup. This includes the possibility of facing off in the Super 4 stage and, if successful, a face off in the finals. This anticipation adds to the excitement ahead of his 2023 ICC World Cup encounter in Ahmedabad on 14 October.
