India resumed their innings on 147-2 and posted a massive score of 356-2 with both Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scoring hundreds. Kohli scored his 47th ODI ton strong> and Rahul scored his 6th ODI ton.

Pakistan needed to get off to a brisk start to have any chance of matching India’s total. It didn’t work. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, bowling in his first ODI in more than a year, let the ball bounce under right field as Pakistan’s batsmen struggled to get their bats to the ball.

Hardik Pandya bowled his first rally and dismissed Pakistan captain Babar Azam with an inseam peach and quickly won the gold medal. While Shardul Thakur managed to hold his line and concede a run to the wicketkeeper, it was Mohammad Rizwan who came on next.

Pakistan struggled at 47-3 in 11.4 overs. Zaman was a set batsman at the time of his creation and had to move on. However, he could not find a rhythm. Kuldeep turned to attack in his 18th over and eventually he cleaned up with Fakhar struggling in his 20th over.

When Fakhar saw a flying ball from Kuldeep, he lined up to march across the line. However, the ball went straight through and hit the middle and outside the stumps, completing a 50-ball knock of 27.

Kuldeep ended up taking five wickets as Pakistan’s last two batsmen, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah, did not come into bat. India won the match by his margin of 228 runs.
