After batting first to make 357-8, Bumrah started fielding in great style and dramatically brought the first ball back to the wicket, smashing Sri Lanka’s opener onto his pads.
Nissanka was perfectly fine, but I still decided to get it checked out. Ball tracking revealed that the ball hit the top of the stumps, so Nissanka had to move on.
The achievement was quickly hailed as perhaps the best of the competition to date, including by former Indian sailor Irfan Pathan.

After that, Sri Lanka fell to 22 wins and 7 losses, and continued to struggle in this World Cup and against India. In the Asia Cup final she lost by 51 runs, but at one point in this innings the score was 12-6 for her.
Mohammad Siraj took advantage of the gap and picked up three wickets without conceding a run, giving them a record of 9 wins and 21 losses against Sri Lanka since the start of this continental final. Then Mohammed Shami also came on and shined with his first two overs taking the score to 3-1 for him.
