Vihari Tons Up, Rahane’s Struggles Continue: Round 4 Wrap Of The 2024 Ranji Trophy

The fourth round of the 2023/24 Ranji Trophy came to a close on January 29. Here is a summary of how the India hopefuls performed in the latest round of fixtures in India’s premier domestic first-class tournament.

Cheteshwar Pujara: Pujara continued his cheerful demeanor and scored 91 points on serve. This season, he has scored 535 runs in six innings, second only to Narayan Jagadeesan. With India struggling to get experienced batting options in the ongoing series against England, Pujara is doing his best to help his case.

Hanuma Vihari: Vihari scored a massive 183 off 347 balls against Chhattisgarh, scoring his first hundred of the season. He had also scored his fifty in his second innings in Andhra’s last match against Assam.

Mayank Agarwal: The Karnataka captain scored 51 in the first innings and 17 in the second against Tripura, leading his team to a narrow 29-run victory. After scoring hundreds in the last two matches, scoring an upset maiden win against India, Ranji continued his good form in his season 2023-24 in the Trophy.

Jadev Unadkat: The left-arm seamer did not have a great performance in the service match. In a match where only two innings were played, Unadkat bowled 29 overs with one wicket and was dismissed for a duck.

Ajinkya Rahane: The former Indian vice-captain’s miserable form continued as he was dismissed for 29 balls and 8 in the first innings against UP. The Mumbai captain was demoted to No. 7 in the second innings but conceded nine runs. In this Ranji Trophy his season, he pitched his five innings and he could only score 33 runs.

Umesh Yadav: The retired Indian seamer scored 2-48 from 12 overs in the first innings against Jharkhand and took 4-43 in the second innings to take Vidarbha to 308- It led to a big score. Let’s run for victory.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: Bhuvneshwar took 5 wickets in the match against Mumbai, taking 2 wickets in the first innings and 3 wickets in the second innings. This comes after he posted a career-best eight in the season opener against the Bengals two weeks ago.

Abesh Khan: Abesh was released from the Indian Test team and played for Madhya Pradesh. He bowled just 10 overs in 2 innings against Pondicherry and in the match he picked 1 wicket.

Navdeep Saini: The Delhi seamer scored 2 for 118 in two innings in the four-day match against England Lions before hitting 4 in the only innings he bowled against Uttarakhand. We won by 57 points.

Khaleel Ahmed: The left-hander from Rajasthan last played an international match in 2019 but has been in good form this season. He took 4-40 in the first innings against Manipur, but his second innings ended with a dismal 1-28 in 15 overs. Khaleel had scored four goals in the previous match against Maharashtra as well.
