‘Tough, Lonely And Endless’ – Naseem Shah Gives Update On Return From Injury

Naseem Shah has provided an update on his recovery process from the injury he suffered during the Asia Cup ahead of the World Cup.

Pakistan has had a tough time in the World Cup, losing four straight after winning their first two matches. Naseem was a huge failure for them as they themselves admitted many times throughout the tournament. Naseem sustained a shoulder injury during the Asia Cup match against India in September and was later ruled out of the Asia Cup and then the World Cup.

Hasan Ali replaced him in the World Cup squad and has had a decent record with eight wickets in the five matches so far, but Pakistan lacked the penetration that Naseem provided with the new ball .

Today (October 28), Naseem posted a positive update on his rehabilitation process on Twitter. He said that although the process was not easy, he is well on his way to recovery and is feeling much better than before. The post was accompanied by a detailed video of his training, giving Pakistani fans hope for a speedy recovery.

Pakistan currently sits at the 6th position in the points table with 4 points from 6 matches. Their bowling, which has been their strength in recent years, has let them down with Haris Rauf going clean multiple times and Shaheen Afridi and Hasan not looking as threatening as they did in their primes. Their spinners were also not very effective, which affected their position in the points table.

Naseem is only 20 years old and has an impressive ODI record of 32 wickets in 14 matches, but he was a big miss for Pakistan in this World Cup.
