The current government is likely to change India’s name to Bharat in a special parliament. The news spread quickly after the country’s president wrote a letter to the upcoming G20 members in an invitation to a dinner party in the Republic of Bharat.
Former Indian player Virender Sehwag, a social media figure, caught the trend and corrected it after India’s cricket governing board announced its squad for the upcoming 2023 ICC World Cup.
“Team India Nahin #Team Bharat. While rooting for Kohli, Rohit, Bumla and Jadu in this World Cup, Bharat is in our hearts and the players are calling themselves ‘Bharat’ @JayShah. I hope you wear the jersey written,” he wrote.
On the other hand, Yuzvendra Chahal and Sanju Samson were not included in the list of fifteen.
