Starc Takes Hat-Trick, India V England Washed Out

Here’s the round-up from second day of the 2023 World Cup warm-ups on September 30, where Australia faced the Netherlands and India  took on England.

India won the toss and chose to bat first in Guwahati. About five minutes into the game, the heavens opened up and didn’t let up.

Soon the ground was covered with several wet spots. The cut-off time for the 20-over contest was 7.30pm local time, giving him at least 90 minutes for grounds staff to prepare the ground.

In response, the Netherlands was hit by a Stark storm early on. Max O’Dowd and Wesley Baresi ran back on the last two balls of the first over for a golden duck before coming back to beat de Lied with a perfect in-swinging yorker to complete his hat-trick. p>

At 15-4, it looked like the game was headed for an early end, but Colin Ackermann combined with Sibrand Engelbrecht and Scott Edwards to get the Netherlands over 75 points.

Due to another rain, the match had to be abandoned with the score 14.2 to 84:6.
