Serie B record-maker of Nigerian descent idolizes Napoli’s Victor Osimhen

Osimhen is one of the best strikers in world football in recent years and many young footballers are already looking up to him.

Bari striker Hemsley Akpa-Chukwu has revealed that he admires Super Eagles talisman Victor Osimhen, reports Soccer.

Akpa-Chukwu made headlines on September 16 when he scored Bari’s goal in a 1-1 draw with Pisa in Serie B. The 18-year-old made his debut when Bari were trailing on goal difference, and made his presence known by scoring his team’s decisive equalizer in just 13 minutes and helping them to a draw.

His goal made him the youngest player to score in Serie B at just 18 years, 2 months and 2 days old. Before him, Samuele Vignato (17 years, 6 months and 1 day) became Serie B’s youngest goalscorer when he scored in the match between Monza and Pordenone in September 2021.

According to Napoli Magazine, the youngster is a big fan of the Super Eagles and Napoli striker Viktor Osimchen.

Akpa-Chukwu was born in Cameroon but is eligible to play in Belgium and Nigeria. His mother is from Cameroon, his father is from Nigeria, and he grew up in Belgium.

This young man started his career in Antwerp and moved to Bari last summer.
