Serie A: Osimhen and Napoli rift continues after striker lashes out at fans

Victor Osimhen was nominated for both the FIFA Player of the Year award and French football’s Ballon d’Or after a fantastic season with Napoli.

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has had another altercation with a fan in Napoli after a new video was released, Soccernet.ng reported.

The striker had a great season with Napoli last season, scoring 26 goals in Capocannoniere em> won an award. And in 30 matches he prepared 4 more goals.

However, since then, relations with the club and fans seem to have deteriorated somewhat. The former Lille player is frustrated after contract negotiations stalled and his form deteriorated due to a change of manager.

Just before the international break, Napoli posted a video on their official TikTok account, mocking the Nigerian for pleading for a penalty and missing the resulting kick, and another video relating his looks to that of a coconut.

Days after, another video surfaced where the 24-year-old visibly ignored a handshake from club captain, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, after the striker had a touchline altercation with Rudi Garcia on the touchline after he was substituted.

Yesterday, a video surfaced on the internet, where the Super Eagles talisman was visibly angry at fans who wanted him to sign autographs. From the video, it looked like the fans had caused a scratch on Osimhen’s car, and he was visibly annoyed.

The fans tried to calm down the Napoli player, but he became irritated and scratched the glass.

With his contract expiring in 2025, the Napoli hierarchy will most likely be looking to cash in on the Nigerian, as both parties continue to drift apart, making it increasingly unlikely for Osimhen to extend his stay at the club beyond his current contract.

He is still unavailable to play for the club after picking an injury during the international break, in Nigeria’s 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia.
