Saim Ayub became the first cricketer to score a hundred and a double-hundred in a Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final in the showpiece clash for the 2023/24 edition.
Saim Ayub became the opening batsman for Los Blancos in Karachi district after Faisalabad district opted to bowl at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, scoring 203 runs off 259 balls in the first innings.
Ayub added 379 for the second wicket along with Shan Masood (180) and helped Karachi Los Blancos reach 543 points. Mir Hamza (5-44) and Shahnawaz Dahani (4-50) then defeated Faisalabad for 124.
Despite a 419-run lead, Karachi Los Blancos captain Sarfaraz Ahmed decided to take to the bat again. Probably because he still had more than three days left until the game. This time, Ayub scored his 109 runs and became the first player to score a double ton and a ton in the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
