Legendary Sachin Tendulkar replied to Shoaib Akhtar’s social media jibe after India beat Pakistan in their World Cup 2023 match on October 14.
On the eve of the high-voltage clash, Akhtar posted a picture of him dismissing Tendulkar during the first Asian Test Championship in 1999. Pakistan won the match courtesy of Saeed Anwar’s unbeaten knock of 188.
He wrote on X (formerly Twitter) to remind everyone about the face-off: “Kal agar asa kuch Kerna hai, toh #ThandRakh.”
The English translation of the post stands as: “If you want to do something similar tomorrow, keep your mind cool.”

Tendulkar remained silent until India won by seven wickets, but he had the last laugh. He called him “my friend” and wrote how the pacer’s advice helped him “keep calm.”

The host team easily solved their poor total with Rohit Sharma playing a key role in the run-and-chase game. Rohit ran away with 86 (63) after scoring his fifty in just his 36 balls.
Jasprit Bumrah was named Man of the Match with 2 wins and 19 losses in 7 overs. The Men in Blue sit squarely at the top of his table on group stage points thanks to their third straight win and an increase in net run rate of +1.821.
