Rinku Singh apologised for breaking the press box window with a huge six during India’s second T20I against South Africa at St. George’s Park in Gqeberha on Tuesday (December 12).
On the last ball of the 19th over, Aiden Markram sent a full toss which Rinku received and hit a powerful straight hit for a six. This was the batsman’s sixth hit for the second year in a row, having previously set the record for the most with a wide long-on from Markram.
However, it was later revealed that the shot went directly through the glass in the press box, causing a crack in the window, costing them six goals in the second half. Star Sports pundit Dale Stein commented on the six at halftime: “Yes, and the people who live in the eastern bay of Gkebera (where the match was held) will not be too happy if Rinku Singh breaks their windows.”
