Ricciardo leads McLaren pair in FP1 to start F1 2024

During the F1 GP’s FP1 weekend in Bahrain to open the 2024 season, Visa Cash App RB’s Daniel Ricciardo set the pace with a lap of 1 minute 32.869 minutes on the soft compound and a lap of just 0.032 seconds. It made a difference. His former driver, his team McLaren and his Sunlight.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was eighth after a brief moment at Turn 4, Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton was ninth and Stakes F1 team’s Valtteri Bottas was 10th. The Finn completed the lap on the soft compound, leaving Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz in first place.

He also made a mistake of his own in Turn 1, leading Red Bull’s Sergio Perez, Williams’ Alexander Albon, Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll and Stake F1 Team’s Chou Guanyu into the top 15. The Chinese racer recorded the best lap there. Soft compound.

He complained of brake problems at the start of the session, but completed the session without any problems. Meanwhile, Stroll also made a big mistake, allowing Williams’ Logan Sargent to finish 16th from the Alpine and Haas pairs.

Esteban Ocon took 17th place, followed by Pierre Gasly, Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg, with both Haas F1 drivers active at Turn 11. Interestingly, the top 14 drivers were 1 second ahead of Stroll and just 0.999 of a second behind Ricciardo.
