Reece Topley vented his anger after having to leave the field injured against South Africa today (October 21), throwing a chair out of his way before slamming objects against the dressing room glass.
Topley was hit on the edge of his left index finger in the fourth over of the powerplay against South Africa. After receiving treatment at the scene, he attempted to continue his job before leaving the scene to seek further help.
On his way off the pitch, Topley expressed his frustration at being injured again by an inanimate object in his path. He kicked an invisible object on the floor and then hit a chair on his way up the stairs to the locker room. He hit the chair with his right hand, causing it to overturn and disappear from his sight.

It was the second time in the game that Topley had to leave the field due to injury. In England’s last match against Afghanistan, Topley injured his knee diving for a ball at the edge of the pitch, which kept him off the field for a while. After the incident, he spent considerable time away from the field, but was able to return to bowling in the second half of the innings against Afghanistan.
Topley is no stranger to injuries, having spent much of his career on the sidelines and missing several important international series and tournaments. He was originally selected in his T20 World Cup squad for England last year, but was injured a few days before the start of the tournament.
Topley, visibly angry and fearing the worst after his recent scare, returned to the field midway through South Africa’s innings and took two further wickets.
