Victor Osimhen is already being considered by English Premier League clubs to strengthen their squad following his excellent performances for Napoli in the 2022/23 season.
Veteran journalist Piers Morgan has suggested that Nigeria international Victor Osimhen is considering a move to Arsenal amid Napoli’s recent TikTok controversy, Soccernet.ng reports.
The video in question playfully mocked a missed penalty by a Super Eagles attacker during Napoli’s away game against Bologna.
Known for his outspoken opinions, Morgan made no secret of his admiration for Osimhen, especially after witnessing his skills on video while on vacation in Lagos.
Morgan believes that if Arsenal are to win big titles, they should rely on world-class strikers like Osimhen, who can score more than 25 goals a season.
After watching the video, Morgan reiterated on his official Twitter page why Arsenal should choose Osimhen.
“If Arsenal want to win big trophies, they need a world-class striker who scores at least 25 goals a season. We would pay big money for Osimhen.”He previously said , on his X-Feed (formerly Twitter).
Meanwhile, Napoli’s official TikTok channel decided to take advantage of the situation and publish a video mocking Osimhen.
The video hilariously showed Osimhen begging for a handball penalty and ultimately missing the penalty.
Morgan responded to Fabrizio Romano’s tweet about Osimhen, advising the player not to put up with the abuse at Napoli and consider a move to Arsenal if the opportunity arises.
“Don’t put up with @victorosimhen9’s bad treatment, come to Arsenal instead” he wrote.
Osimhen himself has not commented on the issue, but his representatives have indicated that legal action may be taken against him over the TikTok video.
