Nigeria player overcomes lack of mini-goals and gets Eagles back on track after international break
OGC Nice narrowly defeated Toulouse 1-0 in Sunday’s Ligue 1 match, with Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi scoring the only goal of the match, Soccernet.ng reports.
Mofi had not scored a goal or provided an assist since mid-September, when he scored twice and set up a second goal in a 3-2 win over PSG. This match was controversial between him and Kylian Mbappé.
The former Lorient striker also scored for the Super Eagles in last week’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
He remained calm in the first half against Allianz Riviera as Toulouse kept OGC Nice’s attacks at bay.
However, Moffi had a great moment in the 54th minute when he pounced on Morgan Sanson’s assist to give Nice the winning goal.
This was Moffi’s fourth goal of the Ligue 1 season and gave Nice their eighth win of the season.
With this win, Les Aigrons extended their incredible unbeaten run this season, keeping eight consecutive clean sheets.
After defeating Toulouse, second-placed OGC Nice are now one point behind Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
