Simon has been one of Nantes’ best players over the past three years. The 28-year-old is a mainstay for the club in the final third and a key part of his game is his physicality and ability in one-on-one situations. Opta’s recent statistics highlight this.
According to Opta, Simon is the fourth best dribbler in Europe’s top five leagues, according to Ligue 1. His dribble success rate is 55.1%, behind Lamine Yamal’s 59.7%, Jeremy Doku’s 58.6%, and Leroy Sane’s 55.5%.
This means Simon has a higher dribble success rate than Kylian Mbappé, Jamal Musiala and many other stars. It also means Simon is the best dribbler in Ligue 1.
This season, the Super Eagles star has scored three goals and provided four assists in 18 Ligue 1 games for Nantes. They currently sit 14th in France’s top flight, three points above the relegation zone.
