Kieron Pollard is currently unavailable for Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League because he is attending the pre-wedding party of the son of Mumbai Indians’ owner Mukesh Ambani.
The big-hitting West Indian had featured in all five of Karachi Kings’ games in PSL 2024 thus far and had excelled, hitting 196 off 121 balls across five innings and only being dismissed twice.
However, he was not in the XI against table-topping Multan Sultans, with Leus du Plooy, Tim Seifert, James Vince and Blessing Muzarabani the overseas players in the side.
Pollard was not injured or unwell, as several Karachi Kings players had been in their previous game. Instead, he was absent due to his attendance at a pre-wedding party for Anant Ambani, son of Mumbai Indians owner Mukesh.

According to Reuters, the wedding itself is not until July, but the celebrations have already started, with a three-day bash to be celebrated by 1,200 attendees. These included pop star Rihanna.
Karachi Kings came into their game against Multan Sultans in fifth position in the PSL table, with two wins. Multan Sultans put up 189-3 on the back of an Usman Khan century and Karachi Kings lost by 20 runs. Pollard is expected to return for their next fixture, on March 6 against Quetta Gladiators.
Who is Mukesh Ambani?
Mukesh Ambani is the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, India’s most valuable company by market value. Forbes estimates Ambani’s net worth at US$112.1 billion, making him the richest man in Asia and the 11th richest in the world.
Reliance Industries was founded by Dhirubhai Ambani, Mukesh’s son, with Mukesh involved in its operations since 1981, when he was 24 years old.

Ambani is also the founder of the Indian Super League, India’s premier football competition.
