Iwobi set to make Fulham debut in tie against newly-promoted Luton

Iwobi only arrived at Fulham on transfer deadline day and is hoping to make an impact

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has returned to training and should be available for Fulham’s match against Luton Town on Saturday, Soccernet reports.

Iwobi moved from Everton to Fulham on the final day of the summer transfer window in a deal worth €25.7 million. The 27-year-old midfielder suffered a hamstring injury at Everton, but the Cottage continued with his contract.

Iwobi missed Fulham’s 5-1 defeat against Manchester City due to injury. A match that could have been his first for the club.

The former Arsenal player is recovering and the international break was helpful as it gave him enough time to get used to his new surroundings and return to full fitness.

Iwobi returned to Fulham training on Tuesday and is in contention to join Marco Silva’s line-up for the match against Luton Town.

If the Nigerian player wants to maintain a stable place at Fulham, he needs to be at his best. Silva has already deployed players such as Andreas Pereira and Tom Carney in midfield. Iwobi will therefore have to fight hard to get into the starting lineup.
