Thuri Urdin had a great performance against Osasuna but fell just short in the end
Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar has expressed disappointment after Real Sociedad’s 1-1 draw with Osasuna on Saturday, but is keen to move onSoccernet.ng< /strong> reported.
Real Sociedad traveled to Osasuna for a La Liga match on Saturday, with Umar scoring the goal. Osasuna took the lead in the second minute with a goal from Moi Gomez, with the Nigerian attacker scoring a superb shot from outside the box.
Curi Uldin looked in good form for most of the match, dominating the ball and recording 17 shots on goal. However, they were unable to take advantage of this opportunity and had to settle for a draw.
The result leaves Real Sociedad in sixth place in the La Liga table until the results between Betis and Almeria are announced on Sunday.
After the match, Umar expressed disappointment with the result, but emphasized the character of his teammates.
“It wasn’t an easy game. Unfortunately we created too many chances. But everyone knows we deserved the three points.”Umar said.
“It’s very difficult to play against a team like that in a stadium like that. But I’m proud of our team because we fought hard and gave us a lot of chances. But it wasn’t our day. But we keep going.”
Umar also spoke about his health and recovery from the injury that sidelined him for more than nine months.
“I’m feeling good. I think I’m getting better little by little because I missed last season. The more I play, the better I get.” Umar added.
Following Saturday’s goal, Umar has scored twice in his last two La Liga games for Real Sociedad and will be hoping to continue that streak against Villarreal next week.
