Former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri politely asked Pakistan captain Babar Azam about Hyderabad Biryani at the recently held ICC Captain’s Day ceremony. Ever since the Pakistan cricket team visited India, Babar and his teammates seemed to have really enjoyed the Hyderabadi food, including biryani.
Babar Azam was asked by renowned cricket commentator Ravi Shastri during an exclusive conversation at the ICC Captains Day in Ahmedabad ahead of the ODI World Cup which begins on Thursday. I was asked about my thoughts on Hyderabadi biryani. p>
Ravi Shastri asks “How is Biriyani”.
Babar Azam said “Hyderabad Biryani has been so good!!!😅#BabarAzam #icccricketworldcup#CWC23 #NaseemShah pic.twitter.com/blWyeJw1YM– Ahmar. (@Ahmarch84921398) 4. October 2023
“Sau Bari Bata Chuke Hain (answered 100 times), that’s the specialty. Biryani of Hyderabad! And I’d say it’s 8 out of 10! But a little It’s spicy,” replied Babar Azam.
Bilateral relations between India and Pakistan have been suspended since the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. Only one bilateral series has been played between India and Pakistan, in 2012-13 when Misbah-ul-Haq’s Pakistan visited India for a short white-ball series and then the Men-I -It took place during Green’s visit to India for the T20 Worlds. They won the trophy in 2016 and received a grand reception in Hyderabad.
It Is Not Like We Are In India, It Is Like We Are Home – Babar Azam
Babar Azam expressed surprise at the treatment of the Pakistan team upon entering India and said everyone felt at home. He reiterated that he wants to ensure he takes advantage of this opportunity to perform well for his country in this high-profile tournament.
“I think the hospitality was great. We weren’t expecting it, but I think everyone liked the way people treated our team.” We went to Hyderabad We’re not doing that because we’re staying for a week. Even though I’m in India, it feels like home. I think this is a unique opportunity for everyone to give their 100% and enjoy the tournament,” Babar Azam added.
Pakistan has made great strides, especially in white-ball cricket. The Men in Green are one of the favorites to win India’s elusive ODI title as they have a well-rounded squad for the main event.
Babar Azam‘s team will be aiming to start their World Cup campaign with a win against lower-ranked opponents to give the team the much-needed momentum in the tournament.
