Indian Lawyer Who Filed FIR Against Mohammad Rizwan Claims Receiving Death Threat From Terrorist Group- Reports  

Mohammad Rizwan, a member of Pakistan’s national team competing in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 in India, was performing namaz or Islamic prayers during the match between Pakistan and Netherlands.

“This is a Pakistani cricketer performing a namaz on the cricket field during his team’s opening match against Pakistan in the ongoing ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 on Friday (October 6) Complaint regarding Mohammad Rizwan.”Hyderabad, Netherlands. “Mohammad Rizwan’s act of reading Namaz while surrounded by many Indians on a cricket field symbolizes a deliberate portrayal of his religion which is contrary to the spirit of the sport,” Jindal submitted to the ICC president. Greg Barclay is included in the complaint.

The lawyer said in the complaint filed by Rizwan that Rizwan’s offering of prayers defeated the entire purpose of the spirit of cricket and further called into question his underlying ideology. He added that Rizwan deliberately depicts his religion.

After the recent win against Sri Lanka, Rizwan dedicated his batting (from the cricket governing body).
