Here Is Why Mohammed Siraj, No.1 Ranked ODI Bowler, In Not Playing In 1st ODI Against Australia

India and Australia will meet in the first of three ODI matches on September 22, 2023 at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali. But surprisingly, the Indian team management held a grudge against his Siraj, Mohammed, who is a pacer and his ODI number 1 bowler in this match.

Australia toured India for three ODIs, with the second match being played in Indore on September 24 and Rajkot on September 27. This will be the last bilateral interaction for both teams before participating in the 2023 World Cup.

India’s stand-in captain KL Rahul won the toss and announced that India will be playing with three pacers – Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami. The Men in Blue also featured two spinners, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin, who made a comeback in the ODI set-up.

Mohammad Siraj missed the first ODI against Australia at the PCA Stadium in Mohali due to a minor health issue. His stand-in captain KL Rahul did not give any official update on Siraj at the time of the toss.

According to former India all-rounder Abhishek Nayar on Jio Cinema, Siraj has not been feeling well for the past few days and the Indian team management has decided not to risk the star pacer in the series opener on Friday. That’s what it means.

“Siraj was in a bad mood for the last few days. That’s why the management did not put him at risk,” Nayyar said.

Shiraj’s successor is Mr. Mohammed Shami. India were forced to keep him out of the eleven because of that combination.

“We are talking about Shami because he is back, but we must not forget that he is a top bowler. Not so long ago, he was India’s best pacer .So this is not a bad alternative,” Abhishek Nayar said.

There is no need to worry about the No. 1 bowler in the ODI rankings. It was something of a precaution not to include him in the first ODI. Siraj is undergoing careful treatment ahead of his 2023 World Cup, which starts in a few days.
