Gurkirat Singh Mann, an Indian cricketer from Punjab, has announced that he will retire from cricket on November 10, 2023 at the age of 33. This comes after Punjab recently won the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy.
Gurkeerat was first released in 2011 in the shortest form of the game. He then represented Punjab in all his three formats of the game. For almost his entire decade, the right-handed batsman was an integral part of Punjab’s middle order and scored some notable runs.
Mann scored 3471 runs in 59 matches for FC and 3369 runs in 95 matches for List A with a total of 12 centuries and best scores of 201* for FC and 139* for List A. In 119 T20 matches, he scored 1986 runs with a best of 93*. Mann has the ball and in his career he has taken 55 FC wickets, 33 List A wickets and 8 T20 wickets.
Gurkeerat Mann was also part of IPL from 2012 to 2020. He played for teams like Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers and Bangalore.
In 41 IPL matches, he scored 511 runs, two fifties and a best score of 65. Also, in a best of 2/15 he picked 5 wickets.

The 33-year-old announced his decision on social media and thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Punjab Cricket Association for their constant support throughout his cricketing journey. In his three ODIs, he could only score his 13 runs.
“Today marks the end of a great cricketing journey for me. It was an honor to represent India. My heart is filled with gratitude for the support of my family, friends, coaches and teammates. You all have played an important role in my career and I would like to thank BCCI and PCA for the constant support, guidance and encouragement I have received throughout my journey. Here’s to the next chapter!”– Mann wrote on Instagram.
