Gujarat Titans Playing 11 (GT Playing XI) & Mumbai Indians Playing 11 (MI Playing XI), IPL 2024, Match 5:

Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will face off in the fifth match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). The mouth-watering clash is scheduled to be played on Sunday (March 24) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Both the teams will be starting a new journey this year as they will have a new captain in charge. While Hardik Pandya will be leading MI, Shubman Gill will ply his trade as GT captain. Before the game gets underway, we are taking a look at the probable playing elevens of both the teams.

GT Playing XI:

Openers: Shubman Gill (c), Wriddhiman Saha

Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha are set to open the innings for GT in IPL 2024. With a staggering 890 runs, Gill finished IPL 2023 as the highest run-scorer. With the added responsibility of captaincy this season, the right-handed batsman would be looking to lead his side from the very front.

Middle-order batters and allrounders: Kane Williamson, Vijay Shankar, David Miller, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia

GT’s middle-order has been boosted by the return of New Zealand star Kane Williamson. The right-handed batsman missed the entire season last year after suffering a knee injury while fielding in the very first game of IPL 2023. Apart from Williamson, the likes of David Miller, Vijay Shankar, Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia will ply their trade for GT this season.

Bowlers: Rashid Khan, Josh Little, Umesh Yadav, Mohit Sharma

For the bowling lineup, GT are likely to go with three fast-bowlers and one spinner. In absence of Mohammed Shami, the onus will be on the likes of Josh Little, Umesh Yadav and Mohit Sharma to take care of the fast-bowling department. On the other hand, leg-spinner Rashid Khan will be spearheading the spin attack.

MI Playing XI:

Openers: Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan are set to open the innings for MI in IPL 2024. With no burden of captaincy, Rohit would be looking to bat freely and score big this season. On the other hand, Kishan will be looking to prove his critics wrong after being dropped from the Indian team and losing his central contract.

Middle-order batters and allrounders: Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Tim David, Mohammad Nabi, Nehal Wadhera

While MI have lost the services of Cameron Green for this season, they have been bolstered by the addition of Hardik Pandya who will be looking to lead from the front. In Tilak Varma, Tim David, Mohammad Nabi as well as Nehal Wadhera, MI do have a very exciting middle-order.

Bowlers: Piyush Chawla, Nuwan Thushara, Jasprit Bumrah, Luke Wood
