Bangladesh Women will tour South Africa next month for an ODI and T20I series, marking the first time the sides have played a bilateral series against each other since 2018. Here is the full schedule for the tour, including match timings and venues.
The tour will be held from December 3 to 23 and will feature three ODIs preceded by three T20Is. Bangladesh have never beaten South Africa on their home soil and have not toured the country since losing 5-0 in the 2018 ODI series and 3-0 in the T20I series. South Africa won their ODI series against New Zealand Women in October, and in their T20I series, which was affected by heavy rain, they lost the series 1-0.
Laura Wolvaardt has been appointed full-time captain of South Africa ahead of the tour. Wolvaardt briefly led the team in the previous two series against Pakistan and New Zealand, but has now taken up the job on a more permanent basis. Sune Ruth stepped down as team captain in August despite leading South Africa to the T20 World Cup final six months earlier.
Ayanda Hluvi and Elizmari Markus were selected for South Africa’s T20I squad for the first time, while Marisanne Kapp was rested ahead of the ODIs. Ayabonga Kaka, Chloe Tryon and Nadine de Klerk will not play in either series due to injury.
Lata Mondal, who missed Bangladesh’s home series against Pakistan, will return to the team in both formats.
