The Super Eagles star has returned to the club after being an integral part of Nigeria’s midfield during the AFCON
Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka has returned to Brentford after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, reports Soccernet.ng.
Onyeka was an integral part of Nigeria’s midfield throughout the tournament and was very impressive in his defensive role. He unfortunately couldn’t contribute to his Eagles’ super victory in the final against Ivory Coast.
After AFCON, the 26-year-old midfielder returned to Premier League club Brentford and was well-received by his team-mates and other club staff.
Neal Maupay also asked about Alex Iwobi, who faced insults and abuse from fans after his performance in the AFCON final.

Brentford’s next match is against Liverpool at the Community Stadium on Saturday, but Onyeka is unlikely to be included in the squad as he has only just resumed training with the club.
However, he is likely to be included in Brentford’s squad for the game against Manchester on February 20th. The Bees currently have 25 points from 23 games, which places him 14th in the Premier League.
Onyeka played 16 Premier League games for Brentford before AFCON. He will try to help the team finish the season on a strong note.
