FIA shares changes to circuit, pitlane rule & more for Brazil GP

The FIA ​​has revealed details for the F1 Brazilian Grand Prix regarding track restrictions, circuit changes, pit lane rules, DRS zones and more.

Following an announcement from the FIA ​​Race Director, Niels Vitic has now taken action in response to drivers stopping at the end of the pit lane to create a gap and meet time limits at the Singapore and Mexico races. F1 Brazilian GP.

So far, drivers have not been able to escape punishment, but after Singapore, some say Max Verstappen should have been punished. In the future, the FIA ​​race director revised the rules to prohibit drivers from driving unnecessarily slow or stopping.

“According to Article 33.4 of the F1 Racing Regulations, drivers are not permitted to drive unnecessarily slowly, including stopping their cars in the overtaking lane of the pit lane,” the FIA ​​said in a statement. . “During the shootout and qualifying, a driver may create a gap between the pit exit signal and his SC2 line. p>

“Drivers who wish to do so must drive as far to the left as possible to allow other drivers to overtake on the right side of the pit exit road.” Meanwhile, the track limit remains a white line for the Brazilian. This weekend he is in F1 GP.

According to the announcement from the FIA ​​Race Director, several things have been made regarding the changes made at Interlagos. Here is a list of them:

  • TecPro barriers at exit Turn 1 on RHS have been replaced with new tires covered with conveyor belt.
  • Location of MP9 has been moved downstream by approx. 70 meters.
  • Resurfacing work from entry Turn 6 until exit Turn 7 on RHS in a layer of 5.5 m width.
  • Between Turn 9 and Turn 10 on RHS of the run-off, a new guardrail has been installed.
  • Between Turn 10 and Turn 11 on LHS, new FIA fence has been installed behind the guardrail.
  • The pedestrian bridge at Turn 14 LHS has been upgraded with new guardrails, FIA fence and concrete blocks as protection.
  • Removal of all artificial gras.

Looking at the DRS zones, the detection zone for the first zone is at the apex of turn 2, and activation occurs 30 m after turn 13. The detection point of the second zone is from turn 13 to 30 m, and activation occurs from turn 15 to 160 m.

As far as the four FIA stewards are concerned, the panel is headed by Drs. Gerd Enser and he are supported by Loic Baccheraine, Vitantonio Liuzzi and Luciano Burti. Additionally, Haas’ Kevin Magnussen missed the media day and press conference due to his flight being cancelled, but he is expected to arrive well in advance of his only training session.
