The South African cricket team will wear a pink jersey instead of the traditional green jersey in the first ODI between India and South Africa on Sunday, December 17. The Pink Day ODI is an annual event where the Proteas raise awareness about breast cancer.
The pink jersey has now become an integral part of the South African cricket team. Once a year, the Proteas team wears a pink jersey in their home ODI matches. Supporters can also wear pink attire, so the event will be all pink. The first time the South African cricket team wore the pink jersey was in a home ODI match against Pakistan in March 2013.

“Education alone is not enough to help fight breast cancer. We encourage people to get tested. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in South Africa. is one of the most common causes of cancer, but can also affect men. Additionally, spectators are encouraged to wear pink throughout the game as a symbol of team unity and support for breast cancer awareness.
South Africa defeated India in the first match of the three-match T20I series, which ended 1-1. They will now aim to get off to a winning start in his next ODI, scheduled to begin on Sunday.
In the last ODI tournament in the 2023 World Cup, India defeated South Africa by 243 runs. However, many players including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were rested as the young Indian team led by KL Rahul will take part in this ODI series.
