Victor Osimhen is rumored to be moving to the English Premier League, with Arsenal and Chelsea set to compete for his signature
Former Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has expressed confidence in Victor Osimhen’s potential success if the Nigerian striker moves to Stamford Bridge in next summer’s transfer window, Soccernet.ng reported.
Osimhen, currently plying his trade at Napoli, is a key target for Europe’s top clubs, particularly Chelsea and Arsenal, who are actively looking to strengthen their attacking ranks.
In the past, the Nigeria international has openly expressed his admiration for Chelsea icon Didier Drogba and expressed his openness to a potential move to the London club.
In an interview with Obionepodcast, Zola praised Osimhen’s qualities and highlighted his ability as one of the best strikers in football today.
“I rate him as one of the best strikers at the moment, thanks to his energy, ability to score goals and ability to play with opponents. I think he can also be successful in the Premier League. “I’m sure,” Zola said.
A move in the January transfer window seems unlikely, but given his admiration for the club and the potential influence he could have on the attacking side. There is speculation that Chelsea could sign Osimhen next summer.
Zola highlighted Osimhen’s potential to significantly boost Chelsea’s momentum and said he was optimistic about the positive impact the Nigerian striker could have on the team.
“I think he will change a lot of things for the better for Chelsea, but like I said, I strongly believe that staying at Napoli for another year was the right thing to do.”< /em>Zola
added.
However, given that Osimhen has one year left on his contract with Napoli and there is no prospect of a new contract, Napoli may consider selling him at the end of this season.
With Osimhen’s future still a focus of discussion, Chelsea’s search for a talented striker could further intensify as they look to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season.
