Since joining Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2022, Emmanuel Dennis has struggled for limited minutes under manager Steve Cooper

Nottingham Forest star Emmanuel Dennis has revealed that a conversation with Emmanuel Adebayor was one of the reasons he chose Istanbul Basaksehir, reports Soccernet.ng.

Turkish Super Lig giants have announced a major reinforcement to their squad, reaching an agreement with the Super Eagles striker, who joined English Premier League side Forest on a season-long loan.

The Nigerian star was linked with a move to replace Rasmus Hojlund at Atalanta, Udinese and Fenerbahce during the summer transfer window, but that move never materialized.

The Super Eagles star has finally found a way out of Nottingham after signing a deal that keeps him away from the City Ground stadium.

After the transfer was completed, the Super Eagles star shared his thoughts in a video posted on Başaksehir’s social media accounts.

He said he first met the club during a Champions League qualifier against Club Brugge, where he also met the former Manchester City star. This encounter left a strong impression on him and influenced his decision to join the Turkish club.

“My first encounter with Başaksehir was in the Champions League qualifier against Club Brugge. Emmanuel Adebayor also played in this match.

“I spoke to him after the match. It was a very good conversation. Then he invited me to Istanbul. I came and we met here as well. < /p>

“We went to his house and spent the whole day together. He told me about the club and it stuck with me.”

He further explained that his agent had recently informed him that Başaksehir was interested in signing him, and that he was keen to make the move.

Dennis highlighted the club’s good reputation and recent successes in European competitions.

“The club has achieved very good results recently. They played 50 games in Europe. “This is a very important figure and shows that the club is developing. ” Dennis said.

The former PAOK striker made 27 appearances for Nottingham Forest last season, contributing two goals and three assists. His arrival at Istanbul Basaksehir is expected to strengthen the team’s squad for the upcoming season.
