EFL: Iheanacho in action as Leicester defeats QPR at Loftus Road

Kelechi Iheanacho has scored four goals in four consecutive games since September as Leicester chase promotion.

Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench to help his team further win in the EFL Championship, reports Soccernet.ng.

Leicester City have the best ever start record for a team in English football’s second tier under Italian coach Enzo Maresca.

The Foxes started the game at Loftus Road with Jamie Vardy, Steffy Mavididi and Abdul Fatau starting, with Iheanacho on the bench and Wilfred Ndidi in the muscular lineup. He was absent due to injury.

Mavididi scored Leicester’s last goal against Swansea a week ago, but he opened the scoring in the 30th minute against QPR.

Kiernan Dewsbury Hall was in great form once again. His pass found the 25-year-old winger on the edge of the penalty area and Mavididi curled his shot into the bottom corner to give Leicester a goal.

QPR equalized five minutes before half-time with a goal from Andre Dozell. Lyndon Dykes’ header was blocked and the ball kindly fell to Dozell, who fired a shot on goal.

Leicester continued to dominate possession in the second half, with the hosts having just 21% of possession until Maresca brought on Cesare Casadi and brought on Kelechi Iheanacho.

After a minute, Mavididi turned provider and passed the ball to Harry Winks, who fired a shot into the top right corner from outside the penalty area, which was enough for the visitors to secure the three points. .

Leicester have 39 points from their 14 games so far this season and are just one point away from the 40-point mark.
