UFC middleweight prepares for biggest fight of career. The South African fighter will face Sean Strickland for the middleweight title in Canada on January 21st. But ahead of his title fight, the hard-hitting fighter had harsh words for fellow middleweight challenger Khamzat Chimaev.

Du Plessis, who missed out last time, will finally have a chance to win the title. The South African was scheduled to face Adesanya in the headliner of UFC 293. However, he had to withdraw and was replaced by Strickland. The American ultimately won the belt and he is scheduled to defend it against Du Plessis at UFC 297 early next year.

Du Plessis recently joined James Lynch’s YouTube channel to discuss his title fight with Strickland. The couple touched on a variety of topics, including the loss of Israel Adesanya and the deployment of Kamaru Usman. The South Africans then discussed the Khamzat Chimaev situation.
Du Plessis said of the Swedish fighter, “He’s going to try to beat me, and that’s what he has to do,” but I don’t think he’ll be able to match his performance at 170 and 185 pounds. I don’t think you understand the difference. And stylistically, he tries to outdo everyone he fights
Because he wants to show his strength. If he fights me and fights like this, he will know what strength really feels like. ”Thus, with these comments, du Plessis made it very clear what he thinks of Chimaev as a middleweight.
The Swede criticized all middleweight fighters and claimed he would crush du Plessis. However, he has yet to fight anyone in the top five middleweight divisions. And du Plessis warned him that fighting the same way wouldn’t work.
While many people laugh at these South African comments, we must also remember that du Plessis knocked out Robert Whittaker. Therefore, he is definitely a strong middleweight.
