Young Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jhuler has spoken about the important advice he received from legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni during the Indian Premier League. The 23-year-old received his first call-up to the Indian team during the five-match Test series against England.
In the high-octane home series, India selected Jurrell as one of their three wicketkeeper-batsmen. The 22-year-old showed great potential as a young talent in IPL 2023 and was also selected in the Indian senior team. Jurrell scored 790 runs at an average of 46 in 15 matches, including his century and his fifties in the domestic circuit.

“I have always been a big fan of MS Dhoni. I had a chance to talk to him last year and I asked him, “How do you think about it?” He replied, “Watch the ball and play. Please, just play without thinking.” Whatever pressure there is, it comes from outside. ”
“You have to imagine how you play as a bowler. You’ve already done a lot, that’s why you’re here. Don’t doubt yourself, go outside. Come out and have fun and express yourself. Don’t worry about the outcome, just focus on the process,” said Dhruv Jurel.
Dhruv Jhuler made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut with Rajasthan Royals last season and has been active in all formats since then. He was selected in his team for the Emerging Teams Asia Cup and then went to South Africa with the India A team and took a wicket in his match for the second unofficial Test.

“I like keeping wickets. I enjoy seeing the ball coming at me and I am really into the game. The most balls in the game go to the goalkeeper.
“I love wicket-keeping more than batting. No matter what format I play, the ball has to come to me and I enjoy it. It’s not a burden for me, I enjoy every moment the ball comes to me,” Dhruv Jurel added.
