Dana White Clarifies Stipe Miocic’s Absence from Interim Title Fight at UFC 295

Jones had to withdraw from the event due to a torn pectoral tendon, Dana White confirmed on social media. Dr. White said Jones will need chest surgery and that full recovery will take at least eight months. As a result, Jones will not be able to participate in the UFC until mid-2024.

As a result, this division will move forward towards an interim title. Sergei Pavlovic vs. Tom Aspinall has been added to the lineup for UFC 295, with both heavyweights competing for the interim world heavyweight title. After announcing this fight and excluding Jones and Miocic, White revealed his decision to exclude Miocic.

“You pit the greatest heavyweight of all time against the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. This is a legendary fight for both men. We called Stipe and asked him to fight for the interim title. It’s completely rude to even ask for that,” White said.

White did not offer Stipe Miocic the interim title as he did not think it was suitable for him. He also claimed that fans want to see a match between Jones and Miocic. A fight between Jones and Miocic won’t happen anytime soon. Fans will have to wait much longer for this fight.
