He was the fastest to reach his 1,000 runs mark, equaling David He Warner who achieved this in the previous match against India on 8 October.
Rohit also overtook Sourav Ganguly (1,006) to becomeIndia’s third leading scorer in the history of the Men’s ODI World Cup. He is currently only behind Sachin Tendulkar (2,278 runs) and Virat Kohli (till date he has 1,115 runs).
Rohit is alsothe best six-six batsman in all formats of international cricket. strong>Before the match, Rohit said he needed three overs to surpass Gayle’s record of 553. He accomplished the feat by hitting Naveen-ul-Haq to deep square leg in his eighth over, securing an incredible record.
