Boniface, Ogbu join Xhaka, Sporting Lisbon’s Coates and other standout players in Europa League team of week

Victor Boniface has made an excellent start to his career at Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 6 goals and 3 assistsin all competitions.

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface and former Flying Eagles defender Igo Ogbu have been named in the Team of the Week for the first round of the Europa League on Thursday, reports Soccernet.ng.

Boniface continued his impressive start to his Bayer Leverkusen career with a goal and an assist against Swedish club BK Hakken in the Europa League opener at the Bay Arena on Thursday.

Boniface assisted Florian Wirtz’s opening goal in the 10th minute and then scored in the 66th minute, giving the German team a confident start to the season with a 4-0 victory.

Also in Switzerland, Ogbu scored a perfect header in the 59th minute of the match at the Stade de Genève in Geneva, helping Slavia Prague to a 2-0 victory over Servette.
