Bearman, Fittipaldi named Haas reserve drivers for F1 2024

Oliver Bearman has been named in Haas’ reserve squad for the 2024 F1 season alongside Pietro Fittipaldi, with the former set to complete six FP1 sessions.

Ferrari junior Bearman has been named Haas’ reserve player for the 2024 F1 season after taking part in the 2023 FP1 session. This year will be the British driver’s second season driving for the Prema team, combined with the F2 championship.

Bearman impressed not only Haas and Ferrari but much of the F1 paddock last year and is well placed to break into the grid in the coming years. As a reward, the Briton will complete his six FP1 sessions in 2024, which also fulfills his FIA requirements.

The races he will participate in FP1 are Emilia Romagna GP, Spanish GP, British GP, Hungarian GP, Mexican GP and Abu Dhabi GP. Bearman will share reserve duties with Fittipaldi, who will continue in the role for his sixth season at Haas.

He plans to combine his F1 program with a full-time IndyCar program. “We are delighted to welcome Oliver Bearman and Pietro Fittipaldi as reserve drivers,” said team principal Ayao Komatsu. “Oliver did a great job for us last season. He settled in well and completed the FP1 driving program and testing program in Mexico and Abu Dhabi.” p>

“We look forward to giving him further opportunities in FP1 in 2024. The level of testing is so high that this will be a great opportunity for us and for evaluating Oliver’s progress. The running time is extremely important for providing a seat in Formula 1. Having Pietro with us for the 6th time is priceless. He once again provided continuity and made tremendous contributions to our program over the years on and off the track. We’re happy to have him as a full-time IndyCar driver this season, allowing him to race the races he loves, but he’s also here for us as part of the Haas family. Masu. ”

On the driver side, Oliver Bearman says: “I’m really excited to be part of the Moneygram Haas F1 Team next season. I gained great experience working with everyone in the team last year and I’m looking forward to building on that this year. I’m looking forward to it. I have a few events to participate in in FP1 alongside my preliminary duties, so I’m really looking forward to it. I’m grateful to Haas F1 Team and Scuderia Ferrari for their trust and support.”

And Fittipaldi added: “I am delighted and proud to be joining Moneygram Haas F1 Team for his sixth season. I look forward to continuing our development work and providing the best possible support to the team through the 2024 FIA F1 World Championship.” I’m looking forward to it.”
