Pakistani star Babar Azam is currently plying his trade in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The former Pakistan captain will be representing his Riders in Rampur in the tournament.
The star batsman has been heavily criticized by the Pakistan cricket fraternity for his recent performances and the BPL has given him a much-needed break from international cricket. Babar Azam has performed well in the tournaments so far and in his first five matches he has scored scores of 56*, 2, 62, 37 and 47.
On Tuesday (February 6), he played again against Durdhant Dhaka and a hilarious incident occurred while he was out to bat, revealing that the Pakistan star is enjoying his time in Bangladesh. It was revealed. The incident took place when he was about to finish his run and accidentally got between the thrower and the wicket.
As he entered the goal area at the striker’s end, a fielder’s throw hit his pads and the ball rolled toward the short, skinny leg area. Babar Azam then cheerfully ran towards the ball, picked it up and handed it to the fielder, much to the delight of the fans.

Speaking about this match, Babar Azam was the top scorer for the team and helped the team score a total of 175/4 in the allotted 20 overs. He scored 47 runs off 43 balls and shared two 50-plus stands. He shared 67 runs with fellow opener Ronny Talukdar before adding 52 runs with Shakib Al Hasan for the second wicket.
Meanwhile, Pakistan team director Mohammad Hafeez said that Babar Azam may take a break from international cricket to get back to his best form. The right-handed batsman has been struggling with his form for quite some time. He hasn’t been able to really play an effective shot, even though the run hasn’t dried up yet.
“We have the utmost confidence in Babar’s performance even though he is going through a difficult phase. However, we are willing to give him a break if necessary. Yes, we can. But we will talk to him to know what he wants,” Hafeez was quoted as saying by NDTV.
