“When his opponents had 66/4, Babar Azam scored a spinner and threw 21 overs, bowling fast for 30 overs. I think it made prosperity possible.”
The former Indian opener has expressed belief that Babar’s captaincy choice did not give Men in Green any chance of winning.
“We don’t mind, but Pakistan should look inward and admit that the captain made a mistake. Closing the fist and then reopening it slows it down a little bit.” he added.
Babar’s decision to rely primarily on mid-over spinners may have been influenced by his previous matchup with India. Notably, Pakistan has lost to India in T20I twice in the Asian Cup and World Cup, and Mohammad Nawaz conceded in the final as other bowlers went over.
