Now, Krugman joins an illustrious list of players who have won titles in the Orange Bowl, a 76-year-old ITF Junior Grade A tournament for the best players 18 and under in Florida, USA.
Defeating first and fourth seeds Laura Samsonova and Iva Jovic, Krugman advanced to the final against American Tyra Katerina Grant.
Krugman defeated the home favorites 6:3 and 6:3, joining the list of great names. He specifically mentioned the aforementioned Gauff about his feelings after the game.
“It feels incredible,” said the Brit. “Last year we played 14-a-side and reached the final. It was really disappointing not to win, but of course it was great to win with the U18s.
“This is just part of the journey. It’s a small step, but it’s a great thing.” I walked past the poster with all the great players [who won]. I saw Coco Gauff. I’m glad to be able to participate in this committee. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t mean anything, but I hope it does. ”
