Yashasvi Jaiswal Or Ruturaj Gaikwad Is Likely To Join The Indian Squad For The World Cup As Back-up For Shubman Gill – Reports

Young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal or Ruturaj Gaikwad could join the Indian squad as a replacement for Shubman Gill, who has been suffering from dengue fever since arriving in Chennai for the opening match against Australia expensive. The right-handed opening pitcher will miss the game against the five-man team and will reportedly need a week to recover from his illness.

The BCCI has already announced that Shubman Gill will not travel for Wednesday’s match against Afghanistan as he is under the observation of the BCCI medical team. He was reportedly taken to a hospital in Chennai after complaining of fatigue, and staff advised him to rest for 48 hours before being re-examined on Thursday.

Shubman Gill has been suffering from dengue fever since the Indian cricket team arrived in Chennai. In Sunday’s match against Australia, Ishan Kishan replaced the opening batsman with Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

After playing against Afghanistan on Wednesday, India will take on their arch-rivals on Saturday (October 14) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. If an opening pitcher recovers from the illness, it is unlikely that he will be able to play for his team in the main game, as the condition remains very hard on the body for many hours after recovering from dengue fever.

As per a report in the Indian Express, the Ajit Agarkar-led committee will meet in Delhi before the India-Afghanistan match to decide whether the opener will be available for the remaining matches of the World Cup. It is said that Ruturaj Gaikwador Yashasvi Jaiswal could be used as cover for the team’s outing.

Rohit Sharma’s team will be hit hard by Shuman Gill’s absence considering his form in 2023. Not only is he India’s best batsman with his 1,230 runs at an average of 72.35 this year, he also loves batting for Ahmedabad, as his performance in the match speaks for itself.

Gir’s absence cost the hosts dearly as substitute Ishan Kishan was sent off for a golden duck in the first match against Australia and the Men in Blue relied on the left-handed batting lead in the match against Afghanistan. I was about to pay. < /p> p>
