Watch: Zaman Khan picked up his first wicket in the Big Bash League with a pinpoint yorker to clean up Sam Billings.
Zaman Khan has previously played in PSL, The Blast, The Hundred, LPL and for the Pakistan national team, but the 2023 edition of BBL 13 marked his Big Bash League debut.
Zaman came on in the eighth over and conceded six singles before captain Chris Green made a near save. Before the final over of the innings, his numbers were 0-24 in his 3 overs.
Sam Billings hit 23 of 16 pitches for strikes. He receives the first ball and misses it, but Zaman lets the ball shoot past his legs.
Billings was offside, giving him space to play the ball, but Zaman hit the yorker perfectly. The ball was fired from a low release point and crashed into the base of the stumps.
Two balls later, Zaman cleared Michael Nether. Supported by Colin Munro’s 33 balls and 46 balls, they finished the game against Brisbane Heat with 2 wins and 31 losses, 151-7, and against Tanveer Sangha with 3 wins and 21 losses.
Sydney Thunder, who were 51-2, then had Xavier Bartlett (3-35), Matthew Kuhneman (2-18), Paul Walter (2-22) and Mitchell Swepson (2-26) They suffered a crushing defeat with 131 losses.
